Anaya POV
"Anaya! It's 8 am already. It's your first day at office. Get ready!" Maya aunty announced opening the door of my room. I lay motionless. Although I heard her, I pretended not to.
Can't I sleep a bit more?
On hearing no response from me, she entered and parted the huge curtains resulting in the golden rays of sun earlier filtered by the window falling straight on my face.
I squint my eyes irritated and grabbed my phone from besides, checking the time.
What the actual fuck!
I am running late.
I rush inside the bathroom ignoring the words of Maya aunty who would be supposedly asking me to get changed and come down for breakfast. I showered and changed into a purple pencil skirt with white shirt and a matching purple coat. I tied my hairs up in a ponytail with a silver Armani Exchange wristwatch.
I checked time and it is nine am already. I am supposed to report at office by ten thirty am anyhow and now I have to do my breakfast and deal with Mumbai traffic too. Fucking wonderful!
I went downstairs only to find Zeva getting scolded by dad on the dining table with Atharva standing behind him with his hands folded at front. I raised an eyebrow witnessing the scenario and entered the huge dining hall with a decent cough marking my presence.
Zeva looked at me with eyes gleaming with tears threatening to fall. My face turned at Atharva, the obvious cause of this horrible morning view. Sensing my glaze on him, he looked at me matching eyes with me when I just raised a brow, a silent question confided inside a stare. He just blinked twice as if he did his action is unquestionable, justified till he is faithful to my dad. Such a dumb robot he is!
"What is happening here? Zeva why have you not eaten your breakfast yet? Don't you have a college to attend?" I questioned in a row with my voice loud enough for my dad to understand my displeasure on the scene. She shuttered to speak while my dad cut her even before she started and announced,
"She sneaked out again, that too for visiting a local street market. And you know the most fantabulous thing, I got to know about this from one of my investors who saw her wandering on the streets. I couldn't believe my ears!
But then Atharva informed me about her shameful act and how can I deny now? Should I call that investor and sat that it was not my daughter, must be some lookalike? Idiots!"
Accha, to isne chugli Kari hai!
Khada to aise hai jaise abhi ise award milne wala hai sach bolne ka!
My lips pressed into a thin line on hearing the comment. I mean it's fine to visit local markets! Although I won't do that even for a billion dollars but if she likes to then I don't think I have to restrict her or so.
"Oh okay! I see that's the case."
I said a bit confused about how an ideal reaction from me should be. I mean, it's not that big of a deal. Definitely not for me!
But it's Rajdeep Sarraf and his public image against the world so I don't think I have much to say.
He instantly raised a brow on my response and looked at me as if I have just committed a crime.
"Okay? Is that all you have you to say about her shameful act?!" He said making me hiss.
"I am really not in a mood for this dad. I have a job to go to. All thanks to you!" I said with the most tired voice sitting on the chair in front of Zeva.
"Atharva, tum naashta karoge kya bhaav khaake hi hogya tumhara?"
I asked sarcastically looking at him while Zeva pressed her lips in a thin line. Atharva's face paled and he left from there excusing himself while dad just stared at her with the most hopeless expression in the world.
He banged his first on the table getting up.
"I am leaving for office. Anaya be there on time." He spat harshly wiping his hands with a tissue.
"Dad actually that dent on my Mercedes is not repaired yet. So, can you please ask the driver to take out a new car from the garage? Actually, I really liked that model but it's fine, I mean I can manage with a Porsche for few days. Anyways my car will be repaired soon."
I said casually but the pain is real. That stupid guy!
"I forgot to tell you this, you are no more allowed to use luxury cars and also you will have to drive to office yourself. No luxury cars for you and no driver."
He said with a sharp and bold voice with his hands folded behind his back.
AUTHOR POV-
"Dad! Don't you think it's too much?" She said with her tongue poking her inside of the cheek.
"And yes, you need to address me as Mr. Sarraf in office. No dad at work."
He said without replying to her whining.
"Fine Mr. Sarraf! But I won't give up, I will be the CEO at any cost." She said banging her first on the dining table.
"Let's see" he said making his way outside the hall.
"Don't worry di, you will ace it." Zeva said placing her hand on hers trying to calm her down.
"Yeah! Thanks, Ze! And now hurry up otherwise you will be late." She said with a sigh.
"Yeah, and you are definitely going to be late if you don't leave right now!" Zeva said showing her the time on her phone.
"Oh fuck! I'm so late! I need to rush. Bye ze!" she said gulping her juice while standing up from her chair, taking her phone.
She reached the huge main door of the mansion where a white Sedan stood near the gate. She looked at it with a scoff as it would be such a disgrace for the one wearing the dress of worth more than that of the car.
She adjusted herself on the driver seat half-heartedly and buckling the seat belt, she drove off to the office which was a thirty-minute ride from Sarraf Mansion.
It had been almost twenty minutes, and she covered a good distance, but the colors flew from her face as she saw the long traffic at the crucial time. She hit her fist on the steering wheel impatiently while checking the time which showed that she was already late and now it didn't matter even if she flew from there. She would be marked as the employee who reaches late on their first day.
As the traffic cleared, she rushed her car through the streets and reached office exact half an hour late. She rushed through the elevator with her heels creating an almost embarrassing sound for such an elegantly dressed person. As she ran through the corridor towards the elevator, the whole staff of the ground floor looked at her with disbelief written on their faces.
They have seen her quite a few times in the office, accompanied by her dad and they have always seen her as a perfect elite. Well dressed, short spoken, incredibly charmed and extremely professional with a commendable sense of business.
But seeing her like this! running around in the corridor, heels hitting the floor like a clumsy person from her soap opera was just so opposite from the image she has had. Today is the day where she creates a new image it seems.
The gasps and the whispers didn't go unheard from her, but she chose to ignore them as her first impression in front of her so-called new boss was more important than keeping up any social standards. Now all she could comprehend was that she needed to be in the cabin as soon as possible.
The elevator doors opened at the eleventh floor and as she stepped out, her phone rang startling her. She looked at the caller ID and colors flew from her face when she saw it was his dad calling him knowing her absence from the workplace till now.
"Shit!" she muttered under her breath before answering the call while running around in the corridor trying to figure out where is the Chief Designer's office. She answered the call pacing it near her ear when her father's voice was almost overshadowed by her own panting reverberating in the air.
"Where are you?" Rajdeep asked on the call with his tone subdued yet cold.
"Where the fuck is the cabin?" she asked trying not to yell and maintain the crumbled composure but the frustration increasing every second while she runs aimlessly all around the never-ending corridor looking for his bosses' office.
"It's straight then left from the elevator." he gave the reply curtly supplying the necessary information.
"Just wait for me!" she said impatiently trying to save herself from the obvious wrath that's going to engulf her as soon as she faces him.
"If you don't report to your boss right now, you will be marked as absent in the employee register on your first day. A wonderful reputation for the prospective CEO!" he informed more like mocking the ambition as success never lies with indiscipline.
"PRESENT SIR!!!" she remarked as she pushed the glass door of the cabin, pushing herself inside while she leaned on the wall placing her right hand on her chest panting heavily and eyes barely opening, evident she had been rushing and running a marathon to reach here.
"Where have you been? and the hell have you been doing? were you jogging to office?" Rajdeep asked astonished as hell looking at her daughter who looked like she just ran a six-contender relay race all alone and made it to the finish line alive.
" Sorry to burst you bubble but I didn't perform any stunt sort of that to satisfy your wildest imaginations. I got stuck in traffic and then couldn't the cabin. Won't happen again." she said trying to regain her energy and senses.
As she opened her eyes, and her vision cleared completely, and the earth slipped beneath her legs when she saw HIM standing in front of her wearing a white shirt paired with black pants and a black coat, glasses adorning his face making him look effortlessly cute. His expressions mirrored hers as he stood there frozen and horrified. His horrid expressions soon changed, replaced by a smirk as he saw her titally fazed.
Their lips chose silence, but eyes fought a war while her dad stood there cluelessly. He chose to break the silence but before he could, two loud voices echoed in the room together.
"YOU!!"
"What the hell are you doing in my office?" Anaya stormed towards him questioning the obvious.
"Ek second! My office? matlab tum... tum Anaya Sarraf ho? Tum hi ho wo batameez ladki jiski baat kar rahe the Mr. Sarraf? Oh my god!"
Words flew from Aarav's mouth as he stood there in complete glee trying to control his laugh, his eyes widely matching that of a saucer. He could not comprehend the joy of having her as his secretary, his junior.
This means he is going to have a privilege over her and the unnecessary attitude that she carries is going to be dust.
"Ek second! Matlab tum ho Aarav Tripathi? kyaaaaa"
Anaya yelled on top of her lungs in pure horror as she could not even fathom taking orders from someone whom she despises to her core.
He just got a golden opportunity to take his revenge, and his expressions are showing that he is going to use his chance very well.
"What is happening here? Does anybody care to explain?"
Rajdeep said with his voice stiff as a log as he stood there all this time watching the not so joyful reunion.
"Nothing sir! I think we have already met each other. You don't worry, I'll handle her. I'll perfectly train her with all the basic skills she needs to develop."
Aarav said professionally trying hard to hide that grin that refuses to let go his lips.
"I trust you Mr. Tripathi. You already know why I have chosen you so make sure you make her appropriate to be a promising CEO."
Rajdeep replies curtly while Aarv nodes positively.
"No! I won't work under him. Never!" Anaya said again cutting the silence sharply with her shrill voice.
"You don't have a choice Anaya. This is the cost you bare to achieve what you want to." Rajdeep said turning towards her while she looked at him with a questioning scoff.
"But dad-"
"You can go back to Paris and forget about this company."
"I will work under him."
"So, Ms. Anaya Sarraf, are you ready to be my secretary?"
Aarav questioned her bending slightly to match her height.
Her glare threw daggers at him while she replied gritting her teeth," Yes, I will be your secretary."
"Well then! I will leave you guys and Anaya; your table is beside Mr. Mehta's." Rajdeep affirmed before leaving the office, slightly pushing the door close.
Anaya pov:
He left me alone! With this monster who looks like he is going to eat me raw.
Oh my god kaha phas gyi Mai! CEO banne nikli kaha is kangaal ki secretary ban gyi!
"Agar khud se baat karke hogya ho to meri baat bhi sun le." He said looking at me with a scoff, bending towards his table with the support of his arm.
"Kya hai?" I asked frustrated. I really need to have patience.
"Izzat se baat karo, hum tumhare boss hai!" He said making me confused.
"Hum? Aur kitne boss hai mere?" I asked with my brows scrunched in confusion.
"Hum apni baat kar rahe hai!" He said glaring.
"Phir hum? Aur bhi koi baat kar rha hai?"
I asked again with more confusion dripping from my face. What kind of language is this? Why is he getting plural when it's just the two of us here?
"Bewakoof ladki! Hum matlab hum Aarav Tripathi! Hum hai tumhare boss!" He said loudly as if high pitch would prove his point!
"Arey to ye hum kya hota hai? Hum hum laga rakkha hai! Ajeeb paagal aadmi ho! Kon hum? Tum aur tumhari fauj?"
I yelled taking a step closer as my patience reached the border line.
"Oh yeah! How can I forget you are a foreigner and now in Mumbai. But let me tell you Ms. Anaya Sarraf that I am from UP and this is how we speak. So better get used to it because I don't like people who make the same mistakes again and again!"
He said looking clearly offended removing his glasses fiercely with his left hand.
"Huh gawaar!" I muttered under my breath taking a step back assuming he didn't listen but my belief broke as he replied,
"Issi gawaar ki secretary hai ab aap! Behtar hoga aadat daal le!"
